Job Description
Network administrators support our growing trading infrastructure. Our ideal candidates will have deep technical experience including capacity planning, design, implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of high performance, scientific cluster computing systems.
|
Responsibilities
- Perform advanced, complex network analysis;
- interact with remote facility personnel at multiple geographically-dispersed data centers;
- perform network installation, upgrades, training, documentation, monitoring and analysis implement the corporate network architecture;
- day-to-day system administration concerns such as network security, troubleshooting, host management, firewall and routing management;
- configuration of multiple models of Cisco switches in a VLAN configuration.
- working experience with VPN's and other secure methods of data transfer and authentication;
- responsible for performing asset management and inventory of equipment and software;
- demonstrated experience documenting network layouts, configurations and cabling; and
- after hours and on call duties are a requirement of this position.

Qualifications
- 3+ years experience working with mid- to large-scale global networks;
- familiarity with Linux and UNIX system administration (Debian Linux is a plus);
- DNS, DHCP, TFTP, routing, firewalls, e-mail, distributed authentication, VPNs, telco liaison, and other network administration concerns, particularly in complex LAN and WAN environments (Cisco certification a plus);
- production support of large-scale, data-intensive distributed information systems;
- familiarity with numerically intensive scientific computing applications a plus; and
- financial services domain experience (in particular securities and other trading environment) a plus.
